Sizing and wiring a bank

Deye’s typical configuration pairs the SE-G5.1 Pro-B with 12 kW and 15 kW inverters and 3 to 12 batteries in parallel. The spec table lists Deye’s 1- to 4-hour builds.

Each pack has a built-in 125 A 2P breaker. The manual connects a multi-pack bank to the inverter through a common DC+/DC− busbar but does not name a busbar part. Deye’s Combiner Box-300A is a four-input, 300 A busbar enclosure. Confirm with Suncloud whether your bank needs one, and how many.

Size the busbar-to-inverter cable to the inverter’s maximum output power, not to the battery count. The manual’s 12 kW example needs 240 A continuous (50 mm² or 1/0 AWG and above).
Above 12 kW, parallel mode 2 is mandatory. The manual’s mode-2 example is a 16 kW inverter at 300 A total (70 mm² or 2/0 AWG).

IP20: an indoor battery

The battery is IP20. Section 4 of the manual says to install it indoors, away from heat sources, out of direct sunlight and with good ventilation. Without a cabinet, quote and install it as an indoor IP20 battery. Deye’s enclosures are covered on SE-G5.1 Pro-B battery cabinets. They are sold separately and are not part of Suncloud kits. Confirm the site with Suncloud before planning a cabinet outdoors.
