Highlights
- PV-only single-phase string inverters for grid-tied solar with no battery input, in three enclosures: the G04 (5 and 6 kW, 8 kg), the deeper 8 kW G02P1 (12.1 kg) and the taller 10 kW G02P1 (14.8 kg).
- Two MPP trackers with a low 80 V start-up and a wide 70–500 V MPPT range. The 10 kW model takes two strings on each tracker.
- Max. PV input power is 1.5× the AC rating: 7.5, 9, 12 and 15 kW on the 5, 6, 8 and 10 kW models. Deye’s AU catalogue also lists a separate max. PV access power of 2× (10, 12, 16 and 20 kW), which the datasheets do not print. Both are inverter limits, not a sizing target: size the array to the AU rules that apply to the site.
- Zero export application and VSG application are listed as standard features on Deye’s datasheets. String intelligent monitoring, anti-PID and AFCI are optional.
- Integrated DC switch, Type II DC and AC surge protection, IP65 and natural cooling at ≤35 dB.

Deye’s datasheets for these families also list other ratings (3.6, 4 and 4.6 kW G04; 7, 7.5, 9 and 10.5 kW G02P1), and Deye’s AU/NZ SUN Series warranty (V2.17, p.2) lists those at 10 years too. This page covers the 5, 6, 8 and 10 kW models. The product image shows the G04 (5 and 6 kW). The 8 and 10 kW G02P1 have their own enclosures (dimensions above), pictured on their linked datasheets.
Good to know for AU installs
- The “10K” is rated 9.99 kW / 9.99 kVA, not 10 kW.
- Single-phase grid regulation is AS/NZS 4777.2. Confirm the DNSP’s single-phase inverter and export limits before quoting, and set the region profile at commissioning.
- Export limiting uses the built-in limiter with an RS485 energy meter or a sensor clamp (CT). Deye’s parts list shows both as optional, so allow for one when the site has an export limit. The meter Suncloud supplies is the Eastron SDM120CTM-40mA with its ESCT-TA16 CT, which Deye’s manuals draw in Pic 7.4 and Pic 7.5. Ignore the zero-export chapter’s first figure (Pic 7.1): it shows a direct-connect SDM230, not the CT meter we supply.
- Meter wiring differs by model. In Pic 7.5 the meter’s RS485 lead goes to the RS485 connector on the G04 and to the Limiter terminal block on the G02P1. On both, the meter’s CT (ESCT-TA16) clamps the grid-side active conductor with its arrow pointing at the inverter (S1 white, S2 black).
- The optional sensor clamp is drawn differently. The manuals’ direct sensor-clamp method (Pic 7.22, clamp wired straight to the inverter’s limiter input) carries a note that the clamp’s arrow points to the grid. If you use the clamp instead of a meter, confirm its orientation with Suncloud before relying on that figure.
- Check the CT direction at commissioning. The inverter’s Meter Power reading is positive when the grid is supplying the load and negative when PV is exporting. A negative reading while the site should be importing points to a reversed CT.
- A DRM connector is supplied in the box. The datalogger for WiFi monitoring is listed as optional.
- The manual requires one AC circuit breaker per inverter, with no loads connected between inverter breakers. Its cable and breaker figures (table above) are Deye’s recommendation; size the final installation to AS/NZS 3000 and the site conditions.
- Warranty. All four models carry Deye’s AU/NZ SUN Series 10-year limited warranty (V2.17, July 2026), which lists the G04 and G02P1 by model. For the first five years it covers all parts and the labour Deye needs to repair the product. For the second five it covers parts only, excluding the LCD, fan, labour, taxes and duties. Neither period covers installer fees for installation, on-site inspection, removal or reinstallation.
- There is no battery input, so adding storage later needs an AC-coupled battery system or a hybrid inverter. Confirm how the string inverter will be coupled before quoting.
Figures are from Deye’s AU datasheets for the SUN-3.6/4/4.6/5/6K-G04-AU (December 2025) and the SUN-7/7.5/8K and SUN-9/10/10.5K-G02P1-AU-AM2 (25 July 2025), cross-checked against the Deye Australia catalogue (Ver 4.3, 31 March 2026, PDF pp. 5–7), the only source for max. PV access power. Cable and breaker sizes, derating and the meter and sensor-clamp wiring (Pic 7.4, 7.5, 7.22) are from the AU user manuals (Ver 2.4: G04 7 March 2026; G02P1 July 2025). The warranty term is from Deye’s AU/NZ SUN Series 10-year limited warranty (V2.17, July 2026), which lists SUN-5K/6K-G04-AU and SUN-8K/10K-G02P1-AU-AM2 on p.2; the terms are on pp. 1 and 4. Confirm the exact model variant against the linked datasheet before quoting or commissioning.
